Hands On Hartford Receives Three-Year Core Support Grant from Hartford Foundation for Public Giving

July 9, 2025 | Hartford, CT – Hands On Hartford is proud to announce it has been awarded a three-year Core Support Grant from the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving. The grant provides $200,000 per year in unrestricted operating support, totaling $600,000, to advance the organization’s mission of serving Hartford residents through both direct services and long-term systemic change.

This new grant builds on the success of an initial three-year Core Support Grant awarded by the Hartford Foundation in late 2021. The continued support will help Hands On Hartford strengthen programs that address food insecurity, housing stability, health, and economic opportunity for the city’s most vulnerable populations.

“The Hartford Foundation for Public Giving was proud to partner with Hands On Hartford on this grant. This three-year core support grant has helped strengthen programs that are critical components of the broader homeless services and shelter system in Greater Hartford,” said Hartford Foundation for Public Giving Community Impact Officer, Damion Baker. “Through its strong leadership and effective program management, Hands On Hartford has contributed to improving coordination among providers and implementing systemwide improvements to increase housing stability and reduce homelessness throughout the region.”

“We’re deeply grateful for this continued investment and partnership in our work,” said Janet P. Bermudez, Executive Director of Hands On Hartford. “It allows us to meet critical needs and build long-term solutions in our community.”
