Liberty Bank Promotes Toral Maher and Denise Sharpe

(Middletown, Conn. June 23, 2025) Liberty Bank is proud to announce that Toral Maher, executive director of the Liberty Bank Foundation, and Denise Sharpe, a regional market manager for the bank, have both been promoted to senior vice president – a move that recognizes their hard work and commitment to the organization.

Maher, a resident of Old Saybrook, has logged 20 years as a Liberty teammate. She started as a service associate, working her way up to senior program officer before assuming her current role in 2021. She describes herself as a purpose-driven corporate social responsibility leader who is experienced in leveraging resources to advance teammate engagement and philanthropy.

Maher has a bachelor’s degree from Quinnipiac University and a master’s degree in education from the University of New Haven. She is very active in the community and currently serves as vice chair of the Board of Directors for the Connecticut Council for Philanthropy. She also serves on boards of directors for The Fund for Greater Hartford and Acton Public Library and is a corporator for Middlesex Health.

Sharpe, who splits her time between Hunter, New York, and Glastonbury, joined Liberty as a first vice president and regional market manager in 2023. Prior to Liberty, she worked for more than a decade at KeyBank, starting as a branch manager and working her way up to vice president and regional experience leader.

Denise has a bachelor’s degree from Dominican University New York and prides herself in leading, coaching and mentoring teammates to help realize individual and team successes. She encourages high teammate performance through influential and successful collaborations with partners.
