Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford Celebrates 165 Years of Great Futures with Night of Music, Magic & Memories
Music has the magical ability to transport us, to a different time – to a different era. But, as melodies, tempos and styles change with the years, one thing remains the same. Great Futures have ALWAYS started here.
Join Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford on June 7 at Infinity Music Hall as we celebrate 165 years of helping young people in Hartford reach their full potential. Our Great Futures Celebration will transport guests back in time to the founding of the Boys & Girls Club. A novelty of the time, stage magicians were captivating audiences and begging the question – if they can seemingly defy the forces of nature, why can’t we? Why can’t we give young people a safe place – a place that will shuffle the hand many have been dealt – and put them on the path to success? We’ll captivate you with illusions that will help you experience the magic of a Boys & Girls Club and its ability to make some of the stress many young people face – disappear!
This event will delight your senses with eye-popping entertainment, decadent dishes and moving music. Your ears will be enchanted as we journey through different musical eras – from the classical music that was popular when the Club first opened, to the jazz age, the Big Band era when the Rat Pack reigned supreme, R&B and pop and finally the music you’ll hear kids playing in the Club today. Performers include The Matthew Pearl Quartet, Echoes of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, Rashaad Langley, Nekita Waller and of course, our Club Kids!
The night includes touching and inspiring words from our Youth of the Year, Emani L. and the Champion of Youth Sponsor, Liberty Bank. Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford is grateful for the support of Liberty Bank and our partners including the Hartford Athletic Foundation, Kathy Bromage, RTX, Travelers, ESPN, Eversource, Hartford Steam Boiler, The Hartford, Tokio Marine, Voya and more.
Reserve your spot now to experience the magic of a safe place after school, where great futures are far from illusions and where memories are made every day. Tickets are available at https://www.bgchartford.org/great-futures-celebrations
